First Off, Then Second Off

School's out, that's cool, you know, whatever. That was first off by the way.

Second off, I'd like to ask a question:
What if one of your actions, had no intention to hurt someone else, but ultimately [maybe a day, maybe a year later] it harms someone?

Here's a made up example: What if you made an off comment about something that you really didn't care about, and it ultimately ruined your friend's life, like, I don't know, kept her from going to college or broke her marriage or something.

Is it your fault if something bad happens? Like, it was resulted from your actions, but is it your fault?

Give me your opinions, or some example of your own since mine is kind of lame.

Woo! Schools out for me, too! Hows your summer been?

Hokay, heres my thoughts on this subject:
First I must ask you a question: are you speaking for real life experience here? Or just hypothetic? Anyway.

It really depends. If you made a comment off hand on purpose and they take it seriously, but you meant it as a joke, and you didnt pick up on the fact that they took it seriously, then I believe, yes, it is your fault. Also if you said it jokingly and the same course of events happens, then still, it is your fault. Need to watch what you say and to who you say it. People are finicky, and will take offense to the slightest things, will take things seriously, and will do anything to blame other people. Its unfortunate I know, but thats the way it is. Manipulation of peoples minds (which is what this boils down to) is a tricky thing. Very tricky. One screw up could screw them up completely. Anyway, off to other things...

I don't think it would be my fault. I mean, it's not like I meant to hurt them in the first place. Which is why you should ask yourself. Would you have known or realized that what you say might have the possibility to messed up somebody's life in future? If the answer is no, spare the fuss.
